Nail Yakupov Off To A Good Start In Colorado

Former Sarnia Sting forward Nail Yakupov has struggled in the NHL. After a promising rookie season, his tenure in Edmonton did not live up to the hype. His brief stint with the St. Louis Blues was even worse last season, scoring just 9 points (3G, 6A) in 40 games.

Now he’s a member of the Colorado Avalanche and is instantly off to a great start. He assisted a Matt Duchene goal on opening night, and last night had his first multi-goal game since February 2015. Here’s a look at his first goal in Colorado.

He would later go on to add an empty-net goal at the end of the game.

Congrats, Nail! We hope to see many more of these in the years to come.
