Remembering Roy Halladay
Yesterday we received the tragic news that former Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay had died in a plane crash. Today we look back at the life of one of the greatest players to ever put on a Blue Jays uniform.
The folks at Major League Baseball put together this video tribute of some of the highlights of his career:
The Toronto Blue Jays organization released a statement on his passing shortly after we received the news:

Roy Halladay was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame this past June. CBHOF Director Of Operations Scott Crawford took a moment to express his sentiments as well:
I was in St. Mary’s at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame on June 24 of this year when Roy was inducted. After the ceremony, he took part in the Hall’s autograph session where I was able to say hello and even get a souvenir from him:
I got to speak with him for all of maybe 15 seconds, but it’s a moment I’ll treasure for the rest of my life. Looking back at the tributes to Roy over the past 24 hours, it’s evident that he was not only an amazing player, but a man who touched so many lives by simply being a great human being.
Roy Halladay was just 40 years old.
