With the Detroit Red Wings moving their home games to the shiny new Little Caesars Arena, the process of emptying Joe Louis Arena has begun.

May 12 is the date to mark on your calendar for when they go on sale to the general public. Season ticket holders get access to a pre-sale where they can even purchase the seats they sat in.

It’s a unique opportunity to own a piece of hockey history. Although more recent seasons haven’t been too kind to the Red Wings, you really get a sense of how much ‘The Joe’ meant to them in the final moments of last season:
