High School Pitcher Consoles Opponent In Ultimate Act Of Sportsmanship
It’s totally understandable to see athletes erupt in celebration when winning a championship. However, we often forget that the defeated team on the other side of the field has had their hearts ripped out and are often inconsolable in the moment.
High school pitcher Ty Koehn gets this. After he struck out the final batter to clinch the title for his school, his teammates rushed the field to celebrate. Rather than join them in the frenzy, Koehn ran over to console his opponent who happened to be a longtime friend.
