A recent “Chase The Ace” fundraiser for a volunteer fire department in Nova Scotia received some attention when the jackpot reached over $1.2 million.
A woman and her nephew attended a draw where she put her nephew’s name on the ticket “for good luck”. The good luck strategy worked. Since both of their names were on the ticket, the organizers decided to split the jackpot evenly, giving the aunt and nephew a little more than $600,000 each.
Now the aunt says she’s taking the nephew to court claiming that she never intended to split the prize with him, but his name was on the ticket “for good luck”.
