Bye For Now
As you may or may not have heard this morning, today marks my last day at CHOK and my last day at Blackburn Radio Inc.
I’ve spent the last several days trying to come up with something noble and eloquent to say as a final blog here on CHOK. After 100 attempts, I’m just going to give up on that idea and just speak from the heart.
Long story short: If you’re reading this, thank you. Thanks for coming over to this blog and giving my work some purpose. Thanks for listening to me rant and rave on the air and crack jokes that sometimes made sense, sometimes not so much (chalk those bad ones up to fatigue). Thanks for coming over to visit me at events and shake hands with me.
Without a doubt, the most rewarding part of my radio career was meeting a listener. If I was having a bad day for some reason, a smiling listener introducing themselves was the pick-me-up I needed to get out of any rut I was stuck in. By the way, please feel free to introduce yourself if you see me around here. Just because I’m off the air now doesn’t mean we can’t chat.
My co-workers all deserve a big ‘thank you’ as well. I have a million things to say to them which I’ll elaborate on as I do the round of handshakes and hugs later today.
Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you making my radio career worthwhile. A new career opportunity awaits for which I’m very excited, but I’ll cherish every second I had in the broadcasting industry. My replacement will be sitting in the morning show chair very soon. If you’re as nice to them as you were with me, they’re going to have a great time….and they’ll make sure you have a great time when you listen.
Thanks for popping by.
