Beloved husband of the late Jennie (de Haan) Wagenaar (2003). Much loved father of John and Margo Wagenaar, Nancy and Conrad Kaptein and James and Doreen Wagenaar.Loving grandfather of Melissa, Janelle, Lynnae, Jonathan, Matthew and Shaelyn Wagenaar, Nicole, Meagann, Erica and Jacklyn Kaptein, Trent, Nathan, Alaina and April Wagenaar and great-grandfather of Jenna Wagenaar. Dear brother of Anton (late), Wim (late) and Corrie Wagenaar of The Netherlands, and brother-in-law of Henry and Marianne de Haan, John and Ann de Haan, Herman (late) and Theresa de Haan, Alice and Andy Vroom and Arend and Mary de Haan.  Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Friday March 28, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Redeemer Christian Reformed Church, 5834 Blackwell Sd. Rd., Sarnia on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment in Blackwell Cemetery. Thompson MAINOn the first day of spring and in her 96th year Peg passed in to heaven. Born in Chicago, Peg was the wife of the late Elmer ‘Tugs’ Thompson (1981) and much loved mother of Edward ‘Ted’ Thompson, sweet mother-in-law to Linda and mother to the late William ‘Bill’ Thompson (1977.)  Peg was raised in Kerwood and was a farm girl by heart.  They moved to Sarnia in 1955, where she went to work for the Hudson Bay Company then Walker Brothers in Sarnia.  Peg was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.  Special grandmother to Mark & Debbie Thompson, Mississauga,  Michael & Sharon Thompson, London, Tom Thompson, Strathroy, Kelly Steeves, Sarnia and Darren & Stacey Thompson, Mississauga.  Dear great grandmother to Alicia (Edward), Jenna, Lindsay, Rachel, Maxwell, Nicholas, Mick and Piper.  And great great grandmother to Mackenzie.  Auntie Peg will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by daughter in law Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Thompson (2011), grandson Craig ‘Cec’ Thompson (2013) and special brother James Murby at the age of 102 (2014.)  Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at 11:00 am at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, with the service following at 12:00 noon.  A reception will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at The Sarnia Riding Club, 980 Riding Club Lane.  The family welcomes all friends and family to celebrate the lives of two wonderful ladies – Grace (Pyette) Blanchard and Peg Thompson who passed on in to heaven, arm in arm both on Friday, March 21st, 2014.  Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smtihfuneralhome.ca


Rauws; Jozina

Jozina Maria RAUWS (Strybos) was taken by her Lord to her eternal home on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 89 years of age. Loving wife of the late Antonie Rauws (1923-2003) and beloved mother of Anthony (Tom) Rauws and Phyllis George, Anne and John DeVries, Merve and Shelley Rauws, Rita and Henk Byma, Irene and Case Zylstra, and Earl and Carol Rauws. Loved and missed by 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughter in-law Lee (Tom) Rauws and her 8 siblings from her large and loving family. Born in Maassluis (The Nederlands) on July 15, 1924 where she grew up and then immigrated to Canada with her husband in 1950. Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, March 26th, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Wyoming Christian Reformed Church (4524 Confederation Line). A private interment at Wyoming Cemetery will take place on Thursday, March 27th , 2014 and a memorial service will follow at the Wyoming Christian Reformed Church at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev.
