What is Conductive Education?

Conductive education is an intensive, multi-disciplinary approach to education, training and development. This program helps children build their cognitive skills and helps them learn to use alternate strategies to accomplish common motor tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, dressing, and eating. The focus is also on teaching family members to use these strategies at home to reinforce the application of CE skills in all aspects of daily life.

The program is led by certified Conductor teachers who come from Hungary each summer having been trained by the Peto Institute where Conductive Education began. This program is only available in Canada in larger cities and it is for this reason that 19 years ago the summer programs came to be to provide the opportunity for children to attend in Southwest Ontario. SWONT Conductive Education is a registered non-profit charitable organization and as a result through various fundraising efforts we are able to keep the costs for parents at a minimal.
