Darius Rucker To Release Christmas Duet
Darius Rucker has teamed up with electronic artist and violinist Lindsey Stirling for a special performance of the classic Christmas carol “What Child Is This” for the CMA Country Christmas television special, airing at 9 p.m. tonight on ABC.
The duet has also just been released as a digital-only single.
Darius said the performance was the idea of the show’s executive producer, Robert Deaton.
“To be getting to sing ‘What Child Is This’ and to be getting to do it with Lindsay is amazing, and when (producer) Robert called me and asked me if I wanted to do it I was so honoured. She’s such an amazing musician and to get up here and get to do that song with her on the CMA Country Christmas I think is pretty awesome.”
Darius also recently released an original holiday song with his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates and young songstress Abigail Hodges called “Won’t Be Home For Christmas.”
The song honours the sacrifice of military members and their families.
