Carly Pearce Invited To Join The Opry
Carly Pearce will become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.
She was surprised with the invitation to join by none other than Dolly Parton.
It was at Dolly’s Dollywood that Carly got her start, singing at the theme park at the age of 16.
Carly was backstage at the Opry House recently doing what she thought was a video interview about her experience at Dollywood when Dolly interrupted. She said,
“I just want you to know how proud I am of you . . . I know that they told me that you have been on the Grand Ole Opry 80 times… you’ve performed? How’d you do that? 80 times?”
A shocked Carly replied,
“Oh my goodness, I’m just trying to follow in your footsteps.”
Dolly continued saying,
“Then you should be a member of the Grand Ole Opry. What’s wrong with them? Well, I came here today to tell you that you are now a member of the Grand Ole Opry! It’s official, it’s official!”
Carly immediately burst into tears.
She will officially be inducted into the Opry on August 3rd.
