Why Does Dolly Parton Wears Fingerless Gloves?
If you’re a huge Dolly Parton fan, you probably know she often wears fingerless gloves.
They tend to be flesh-coloured or sheer, and depending on the angle or situation, they blend in so well you don’t even notice.
But the Internet has noticed, and they’re making a big deal out of it.
Dolly doesn’t talk about them too much, which is unusual for her. She shares stories about her wigs, tattoos, and pretty much everything else.
A guy who runs a Dolly fan site said she wears the gloves to cover a scar she got after corrective hand surgery in 2010. Someone else said they’re compression gloves for arthritis, while others think it’s to hide age spots.
And then there’s Dolly’s creative director, Steven Summers, who says she wears them “as a matter of personal taste.”
In other Dolly news, she’s teaming up with Dionne Warwick to duet on a gospel song that Dolly wrote.
Dionne explained that Dolly had pitched her one song, which she loved, and then a second song, which turns out to be the duet.
“It’s called ‘Peace Like a River. She wrote it. And I am very excited about this. I really am. I’ve done so many duets over the years. But this one’s gonna be very special, it is.”
There’s no word yet on when that collaboration will be available to fans.
