Wynonna Judd Had A Boss And Employee Relationship With Mom Naomi
Wynonna Judd had a very special bond with her mom Naomi, even though it was often put to the test.
They toured together as The Judds for 10 years, which is a lot of shared bus rides, planes, and hotels.
Wynonna remembers those days as being more of a boss-employee dynamic, and Naomi was the boss.
“Let’s just get it straight here. I was the lead singer, and the only way I could get her to get that would be to be late. I had a thing about being late just to show her that I had some power. We had a lot of fights. It’s not natural to be on a bus with your mother at 17.”
In related news, Wynonna released a solo version of the Judds’ Christmas song, “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem”.
“Getting to re-record it with my husband 35 years later, was so special to me. It’s rootsy and raw.”
