CMT will pay tribute to the life and legacy of Toby Keith in a television special.
That will air tonight, Thursday, February 8th.
According to a trailer posted to social media, CMT Remembers: Toby Keith will take an in-depth look at the artist, his songs, and the stories behind them.
Meanwhile, a lot of great Toby Keith stories have been floating around following his death on Monday, February 5 from stomach cancer at the age of 62.
But the best one might be about the time Willie Nelson got Toby SUPER high.
“Willie’s got that real chronic, medicinal stuff . . . I couldn’t even function. It was like, the most hardcore weed that I’d ever had, and I’d only hit it like three or four times, and unlike Bill Clinton I did inhale.”
It was such a landmark moment in Toby’s life, that he even wrote a song about it, appropriately titled “Weed with Willie”.
