Miranda Lambert Thinks Encores Are Weird

If you’re ever at a Miranda Lambert show and she walks off stage after her last song, she’s actually done.

There will be no “surprise” encore, when she’s done, she’s done.

But why?

“I don’t do encores. It’s weird . . . You just go off the stage and then you’re like, ‘y’all clap louder and I’m coming back’ . . . and then everybody’s leaving to go to their car. We just do our show, and then it’s over. It’s like bye y’all, I know you’ve gotta get home.”

This is kinds of refreshing. The fake exit, only to know you’re coming back to sing one to three more songs always feels a bit disingenuous.
