Zach Bryan Doesn’t Want To Be A Country Musician
It seems like every artist is trying to find their way into Country music, but Zach Bryan is apparently looking for a way out.
He recently sat down for an interview with his idol, Bruce Springsteen, where they took turns asking each other questions about their careers.
It was a very friendly chat between the two, but towards the end Zach said to Bruce…
“I’m not insulting your genre, but when I listen to your music. If you put different production to this, it’s a Country song. All of ’em. And that’s why I don’t want to be a Country musician.”
Bruce said that was fascinating,” to which Zach responded…
“I don’t want to be a Country musician. Everyone calls me it. I want to be a songwriter. You are a quintessential songwriter . . . No one calls Bruce Springsteen a Rock musician.”
He said that last part while drawing an imaginary box with his fingers. So, it seems like Zach doesn’t want to be boxed in, or labelled as anything.
And to be fair, he’s already pretty distant from the Country music world. He doesn’t do the award shows and mostly keeps to himself.
