Hardy On Why Bro-Country Died
Bro-country dominated a large part of the 2010s, so how did it come to an end?
Hardy might have the answer.
He recently talked about it on the podcast, “Bussin’ with the Boys”.
“I do feel like I am a part of a class of artists, me, Jelly, Morgan, Ernest, Lainey Wilson, that have been a part of a shift in country music that brought a wave of normalcy. Like normal people singing a little bit more about normal [stuff] and that sort of resonates with a huge, mass crowd of people.”
Hardy added that the bro-country phase had a quote, “larger-than-life persona.”
And he thinks that all came to an end because people just sing about normal stuff now, and a lot of people, especially in smaller towns, relate to that.
