Dolly Explains Why Her Husband Never Attends Events With Her
Dolly Parton just sat down with Bunnie XO on her podcast, “Dumb Blonde” and they had a cool back-and-forth about Dolly’s husband Carl.
She has been with him now for 60 years, 58 married, and one of the keys to their successful relationship, is that he stays out of her professional life completely.
Dolly told a great story about how in 1967, she rented Carl a tuxedo and begged him to go to an award show with her.
He went, but he did NOT enjoy himself.
“He was so uncomfortable the whole night. He said, ‘Look, now I want you to do everything you want to do, and I wish you the best, but don’t ever ask me to go to another one of these damn things because I ain’t going. And he never did.”
