Blake Shelton On George Strait’s Influence
Blake Shelton says George Strait has had a HUGE influence on his career, to the point where he can’t even really articulate any specifics.
In an interview with CMA, Blake says it’s “hard to measure” George’s influence.
“He’s been a constant presence his entire country music FAN life . . . way before I knew I wanted to be a country artist, [and] way after.”
This came up because Blake’s single “Texas” contains multiple references to George, specifically “Amarillo By Morning” and “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” in the chorus.
