Keith Urban Isn’t Worried About Country Music Evolving
Keith Urban isn’t worried about how country music is evolving.
He just sat down for an interview with “MuchMusic”, and they asked how he feels about “the current state of country” in 2025.
He said he thinks it’s “great,” and noted that changing things up isn’t really a new trend. Country has always been evolving, even way back in the 1950s.
He used Patsy Cline as an example. He said “prior to her, it was all fiddles and pedal steel.” But she swapped out some of those “classic” sounds for things like piano, strings, and backing vocals.
He said the “purists were outraged” then, just like they are now. So, changing things up . . . and hearing people complain about it . . . isn’t exactly new territory.
