Taylor Swift Is Now The Only Female Artist To Sell 100 Million Albums
Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl”, is out TODAY (October 3rd) . . . but she didn’t need it to set a new sales record.
Taylor is now officially the first and only female artist to surpass 100 million album sales. As of yesterday, she’s moved 105 million.
Her 2014 album “1989” is her biggest seller, with 14 million copies. It’s followed by 2008’s “Fearless” with 11 million.
“Red”, “The Tortured Poets Department”, and her self-titled debut album have all moved 8 million copies.
Taylor is now SIXTH of all-time, behind the Beatles (183 million), Garth Brooks (162 million), Elvis (146.5 million), the Eagles (120 million), and Led Zeppelin (112.5 million).
Mariah Carey is the second best-selling female artist with 75 million albums sold.
